The Basic Visual Elements

RULE OF THIRDS

The rule of thirds consists of dividing a photograph in to nine equal sections, then you place the most important things of the photograph in the lines of intersection, also called power points. By doing this the attention of the audience will be subconsciously directed to these points. (Fernando)

Is the way a frame is divided in a picture to highlight points of attention to the audience visualizing the image. It is used for proportion and to balance compositions for a natural interaction. (Pablo)
